How others have used Donate in Memory to remember a loved one

Kieran's story

Kieran Marchant with his mum

After losing his mum to cancer in July 2007, Kieran Marchant set up a Donate in Memory page for her.

He said: "It's an easy website to use that acts as a focal point for shared memories, as well as raising money.

"People who donate are helping to beat the very thing that has just taken their loved one away. I found that therapeutic and Donate in Memory helped me to believe that some good could come out of my loss.

"When I was sending out invitations for the memorial service, my Dad mentioned that he wanted people to donate to charity for a lasting gesture. By setting up a page, you are helping the cancer patients of the present and the future.

"Donate in Memory is invaluable for people who can’t attend the service it's a place for people to go and feel part of it. A number of people that were unable to come commented on the page saying that they felt like they could still contribute and pay their respects."
