My Story

Moorea Hirtsch sadly died, suddenly and unexpectedly, after taking part in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life at Temple Newsam, Leeds, on Sunday 1 July 2012. She was just 57 years old. Moorea was part of a large and loving family, husband Richard, sons Gary and Andrew, daughter Kelly and new grandson Rhys. All are devastated by the loss of someone they describe as 'one in a million' and they will miss her greatly. Moorea was a kind and caring person who would do anything for anyone and was extremely well known and loved in her home town of Pudsey. She was really looking forward to taking part in Race for Life, for her second time, and left the house very excited on the morning of the event to join best friends Brenda, Judith and Wendy. Like most people, Moorea's family and friends have been affected by cancer. Richard and her family are now determined to carry on Moorea's good work and would like her generous support of Cancer Research UK to continue. Already they have been overwhelmed by the amount of love and sympathy shown by both those close to them as well as the wider community. The family would welcome any messages and donations made in her memory to support the work of the Cancer Research UK. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Moorea's funeral service was held on Wednesday 11 July at Pudsey Parish Church and hundreds came to show their respect. Richard and the family thank all those who attended and who generously contributed to the collection in Moorea's memory on the day. Richard has added £322.15 from this to the total raised here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About Donate in Memory: Making a donation and leaving a message on this page is a quick and simple way of supporting Cancer Research UK.
